Havin' a Good Time
19-Twenty: Call It What You Want (digital outlets)

This Australian blues-soul band have played at an alphabet of festivals (more than 70!) across their homeland and for two years running were the people's choice winners at the Bridgetown Blues Festival in Western Australia.

The three-piece – Kane Dennelly (vocals/guitar), Jeremy Berg (drums), and John Gwilliam (double bass) – can be a take-no-prisoners band and their 2019 album Live is a good starting point.

But we pick them up with this latest release because it is their current one, features Aloe Blacc on Life is Good, they were recently voted the 6th most popular band at the Byron Bay Blues Festival (in a list which included Vance Joy, Hilltop Hoods, Crowded House, John Butler and other top names) and the band are playing dates across the North Island soon.

19-Twenty aren't locked solely into the blues (which explains this album title) but mix it up with catchy ZZ Top-pop (Havin' a Good Time), head-down boogie (Boogie Man) and even a bit of acoustic balladry River's Flow which is a moving piece about living in a drought-stricken small town.

On the evidence they sound like a band you should catch if they are anywhere near you. See the poster below.
