THE JB HI-FI GUIDE TO ESSENTIAL VINYL, VOL 5 (2024) Another 100+ records needing a good home

It is that time again when, for the fifth time, I look at the huge number of vinyl releases this past year and sieve out the best 100 or so that could deserve a place in your collection.

As you may see it is once more a wide sampling of genres and artists across the decades because we have factored in the reissues alongside the new releases.

And as I mention in the introduction below, if you are wondering where your favourite sliver of reissued vinyl is, it may be because we have covered it in one of our previous editions.

You can find more about those here.

Meantime, here are suggestions which include Louis Armstrong (a previously unreleased live session) and local Louisa Nicklin (produced by Shayne Carter) in the same pages as Velvet Revolver, The Fall, Dartz and Home Brew.

Oh, and the completely bonkers album Air Ni Ni by Hakushi Hasegawa.

It's a lot to take in, but take your time.

JB_logoYou can pick up copies of this full colour 50 page booklet at JB Hi-Fi stores here or, if you are a bit off the grid send me an email with your postal address and one will wing its way to you courtesy of NZPost.

Have a look at the sample pages below and you'll get the picture.

Enjoy . . . and make sure that credit card is functional.

Cheers

- Graham Reid
