DON'T KNOCK THE ROCK (2025): Rock'n'roll movie posters from the Fifties

Get hip to that jive, daddy-o. Rock'n'roll is here to stay . . . and here is where it began for a generation looking for something more liberating in their lives.

Teenagers weren't invented in the Fifties but in popular culture it was their time, a time of hot rods, motorcycles, dancing and rock'n'roll.

New pop heroes were manufactured quickly and some stars just twinkled briefly, sometimes only on the silver screen. If they didn't come to your town then the movies is where you got the message.

We've checked out this culture previously with posters from wild biker movies, horror films, trippy hippies and lurid crime flicks.

Now we turn up the volume for teenage music . . .
