Perennial Elsewhere favourite, the prolific Chris Wade from England (aka Dodson and Fogg) returns with a another folk-pop collection which moves from intimate acoustic (Tell Me How to Feel, I Want to Live My Life My Way, Then and Now) to gently funking blues-rock folk (Funny Little Man) and lightly dreamy psyche-folk (the brief instrumental Following Stillman).

Is This What You Want? comes with a precise electric guitar solo and the closing title track is an expansive, almost prog instrumental..

Wade is a one man band-cum-industry whose work extends to books, artwork, films and more and this album is all his own work (written, recorded and produced).

This is a quiet and economic collection (just seven tracks) but Wade's voice has deepened and become more dreamy over the years and that makes this an excellent entry point before embarking on a deeper dive into his extensive catalogue which is getting close to 40 albums, many in terrific, colourful  covers by Linzi Napier (this is not one of hers though).
