THE FAMOUS ELSEWHERE QUESTIONNAIRE . . . Blair Jollands

Because we've written about Blair Jollands – and interviewed him – in the past, we'd like to think Elsewhere readers would be aware of him.

But the fact he hasn't lived here for about 20 years – London his longtime home – we figure you might need a reminder in advance of his forthcoming tour.

He also muddies his own waters by having played under different names: his own, El Hula (whose songs When the Devil Arrives At My Door is a particular favourite) and Lotus Mason

He's back as El Hula with a recent EP (Hide No More, recorded again with Strokes' producer Gordon Raphael) and we'll remind you that his songs drew praise from David Bowie and Boy George (who released El Hula on his own label) and that he works in Britain as a sound designer for films (Shackleton, Bodies etc) . . . and has had nominations for the Emmy and Golden Globe awards.

a0241484770_10It's an impressive career.

So feel free to look back at our previous articles, tune in to the music here and have a quick scan of his answers to these questions.
